Bruno Mars walked on the stage in a burgundy suit, performing in Dallas for the first time since 2018 at the Globe Life Stadium April 18-19. This sold-out concert highlighted his new album “The Romantic”, featuring his first solo music in nearly a decade. Mars entered the stage singing “Risk it All”, a song from “The Romantic”.
“It was cool to see him make new music again, especially now that I am old enough to remember this new era of his,” sophomore Ethan Sadka said.
The concert opened with artists Leon Thomas and DJ Pee Wee to create a fun, engaging environment for the audience before Mars even entered the stage.
“I mean, DJ Pee Wee was something else, but his energy definitely made me excited and even more hyped,” freshman Isabel Evans said.
Mars featured his new music, but he also played many fan-favorite classics from his older albums.
“I mean, I love his new music, but his old music will always be a bit nostalgic for me,” freshman Dorian Rawlings said.
The concert ended with some of his most popular hits such as,” Die with a Smile”, “Locked Out of Heaven”, “Just the Way You Are” and “Uptown Funk.” Mars topped off these beloved songs with a light show.
“The high energy songs were honestly a great way to end the concert,” Evans said. “The environment was so good.”
Mars finished the performance with one of his hit songs “Dance with Me” from “The Romantic”. According to Evans, it was a sentimental way to say goodnight to the thousands of fans that showed up.
“It was a great song to end the concert with, and it was such a personal way to end the evening,” Evans said.
Overall, the concert received great reviews, with many fans saying his concert was electrifying, high-energy and a must-see spectacle.
“It was a great concert, and something about seeing him in person was just exciting in itself,” Rawlings said.
