As students return to campus and get into the swing of the new school year, they have noticed many new changes regarding faculty, facilities, school policy and overall student life.
One change students and faculty have noticed is the new six-day rotation schedule that replaced the eight-day rotation schedule.
“I am still getting used to the six-day rotation, it’s been different getting familiar to that new routine,” Head and Upper School Librarian Abby Harrison.
Along with the new rotation, students have also had to get acquainted with the new 8:50 start time, due to fall sport practicing in the mornings.
“I really like the 8:50 a.m. schedule because it allows me to sleep in longer,” sophomore Sana Oblumpally said.
Fall sport athletes do not have the luxury of sleeping in though, as they usually practice in the morning.
“It’s a great way to get the day started, and the mood is always high in the new Athletic Performance facilities,” sophomore Arjan Sahni said.
The new Athletic Performance Center is a new addition to campus and athletic training. Lifts and workouts have now been moved there.
“I think the new athletic building is a wonderful addition to Greenhill. It gives students a chance to learn and grow as athletes,” junior Eden Collins said.
While other buildings on campus haven’t faced drastic changes like the sports facilities have, the dining hall has a new policy regarding lunch.
“The lunch system seems different this year, but the dessert game has been super strong at Sage Dining this year,” Harrison said.
Students have noticed that the new lunch system creates longer lines, making the lunch process slower and less efficient. Students are also only allowed to pick either the grab and go option, or the hot lunch option.
“I feel like the people who end up in the grab and go line do not have enough food, but the line is too long to go and get seconds,” Sahni said.
While there were new policies implemented this year, students have also seen physical modifications to overall campus aesthetic.
“I noticed that there is more turf, and the landscaping looks a lot better this year,” freshman Layla Sherry said.
Overall, Greenhill students and faculty seem eager and ready for the 2026- 2027 school year, and the excitement it will bring.
“I am excited for the new school year, even though it can be tiring, I feel like this year will be interesting,” sophomore Nia Mehta said.
