On Wednesday, Dec. 8, the Greenhill swim team had their second meet of the season and placed second out of three teams.

In the home debut, Greenhill faced off against Parish Episcopal and the Bishop Lynch Friars. In the combined boys and girls meet scores, Greenhill beat Parish with a score of 174.00 to 130.00. While in the matchup against Bishop Lynch, Greenhill lost to the Friars 165.00 to 148.00. The points come from the different races; in an individual race, first place receives 6 points for their team, and in a relay race, the winners get 12 points.

Focusing on the boys’ side, they went 2-0 against Parish and Bishop Lynch, but the girls’ did not have the same results, as they were defeated in both contests.

Even with the overall second-place finish, swimmers are excited and motivated for the next races.

“After going through the first few meets as a team, I’m proud of our start to the season and can’t wait to see our improvements later in the year. ” said sophomore Alex Wetzler.
