Students Receive Recognition at Fort Worth Country Day Black & White Photography Contest

Greenhill Photography recently participated in the 34th Forth Worth Country Day Black & White Photography Contest (FWCD BW Contest), with many receiving high distinctions.

The FWCD BW Contest was curated by Ted Forbes, producer on YouTube channel The Art of Photography, and a critic and curator for The Art of Photography podcast. Similar to past years, Greenhill competed selectively in a few divisions, with many successes. Upper School Photography Instructor Frank Lopez announced the winners and honoraries in an email to Greenhill Upper School families.

“We’ve been fairly consistent in our excellence,” said Lopez. “We have been one of the highest award winners in this contest.”

The FWCD BW Contest chooses a select number of photos to be a part of the exhibit. Mason Chow ’24 and Megan Zlotky ’22 had their photos chosen as part of this year’s gallery. The full exhibit is available to view on FWCD’s official website.

“All of the images chosen are usually printed, framed, and put on display. It’s a very impressive thing,” said Lopez. “Unfortunately, this year it had to be online, but it’s still a huge honor.”

Notable winners include Gabriel Rudelman ’23, who placed first in Architecture; Charlotte Brown ’22, who placed first in Landscape/Cityscape; Travis Mann ’22, who placed first in Nature; and Johrdyn Tarpeh ’22, who placed second in Experimental. In total, 13 Greenhill students received distinctions this year. The full list can be found below.
