Students, parents and coaches gathered in attendance at the Phillips Family Athletic Center on Nov. 10 for the signing of seniors Lee Dort and Noah Shelby’s National Letter of Intent to Vanderbilt University.

During the ceremony, Varsity Boys Basketball Head Coach Joey Sims reflected on the dedication and character of the two honorees.

“[Vanderbilt] has gained two young men who will bring class and high character to their community,” Sims said.

Shelby and Dort went on to thank their families, teammates and friends who have supported them throughout their basketball journey.

“I want to say thank you to the Shelbys who took me in three years ago and saved me,” Dort said. “I couldn’t see my future five years ago, but now I’m here signing my scholarship.”

Shelby and Dort signed their National Letters of Intent two days before the first game of the Greenhill Varsity Boys Basketball season. With Shelby, Dort and two other recruits on the roster, freshman Francis Chukwudebelu and sophomore Micah Robinson, Greenhill has a bright future for this season says Sims.
