Senior Jaden Watt broke the school 200-meter record at Prestonwood Christian Lions Relays on Friday, April 14.

The previous time was 22.01 seconds and Watt finished with a time of 21.84 seconds, coming second overall at the meet.

“It feels great,” Watt said. “I’m happy I broke the record and all the hard work paid off, but I’m still looking to run better each race.”

This newly achieved personal record ranks him fifth overall in the Southwest Preparatory Conference (SPC).

According to Watt, his success has come from his discipline and mindset during practice and going into the meet. He is really focused and wants to get his time even better with two weeks left until the SPC championship.

Along with running his personal best in the 200m, he ran his personal best in the 100-meter dash and won the Prestonwood meet. His time of 10.66 puts him 0.04 seconds away from the 100-meter school record of 10.62.

This time puts him third in all SPC in the 100-meter dash, and he says his next goal is to break the school record.

“Congratulations to Jaden and all his hard work to achieve such an amazing feature,” Head Coach of Track & Field, Stacy Johnson, said.
