Greenhill’s First Away Football Game of the Season

In their first away game this season, Greenhill (0-2) was overmatched against the St. Marks School of Texas, losing 40-8.

The St. Marks Lions were able to control the game by starting it off quickly with a blocked punt returned for a touchdown and were able to carry that momentum throughout the game. The football team is hoping to rebound next week, where they play at home against the Trinity Valley Trojans.

The lone points on the game came a drive finished by a seven-yard pass from senior quarterback Bennett Broaddus to Junior Josh Titens. Another bright spot of the game was how the ball was distributed to eight different wide receivers for the Hornets.

Even with the loss, sophomore Karthik Gehani is optimistic about the family-feel of the team.“I feel like as a team we’re only getting better and stronger together, and I think we are close to figuring it out together,” said Gehani.
