PSAT – On Oct. 11, juniors and seniors took the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT). There were no class for Upper School students on this day. Juniors who are top performers on the test qualify for the National Honors Merit Scholarship. Sophomores are not eligible for the National Honors Merit Scholarship. Freshman spent the day doing community service activities at White Rock Lake and then returned to school to do community building activities. Seniors had the day off and were only required to come to campus for after school activities.

 

Middle School Science Teacher Named STAT Rookie Science Teacher of the Year – Middle School Science teacher Emma DeVine was awarded the 2022 Outstanding Rookie Science Teacher of the Year award by the Science Teachers Association of Texas. Her peers at the University of Texas at Dallas nominated her for this annual award.

 

Band Pops Concert – The Middle and Upper School Greenhill Band performed their annual Pops Concert on Oct. 11. The concert was directed by Middle School and Upper School Band teacher Brian Donnell and Middle School Band teacher Tony Lopez. The band performed songs such as “Make Me Smile,” “Anyway You Want It” and “It’s Alright.”

 

Sophomore Ali Agha Earns ATSSB Jazz Band Chair – On Oct. 7, sophomore pianist Ali Agha earned a chair in The Association of Texas Small School Bands Region 24 Jazz Band. Agha will perform for the ATSSB Region 24 Jazz Band on Nov. 15-16 at Legacy Christian Academy.
