If you have been scrolling TikTok in the past month, then you have probably seen all of the popularity surrounding Cobra Kai.   

A spinoff to the Karate Kid series, Cobra Kai has made a name for itself partly due to famous lines including “time to uncage the hawk” and “it is a snake doo”.    

I think that this new season of Cobra Kai, while some may call it cliche, it is very entertaining in my opinion. 

The actors do a fantastic job emphasizing the karate skills previously demonstrated for each character in Karate Kid. 

Students across campus say they have enjoyed watching the show.  

“The show is able to perfectly embody the savvy temper of Jonny Lawrence, while also mastering the timeless wisdom of Daniel Larusso,” senior Liam Fagelman said. “Also, it [meshes] into a modern-day narrative.” 

Senior Gautam Chamarthy echoes this sentiment.  

“I really enjoyed the show, and I think it is one of the best on Netflix,” Chamarthy said.    

If you enjoyed the Karate Kid movies or old Disney shows, I am confident you will love Cobra Kai, as it feels like a fusion of the two with a little Gen Z kick.
