Football – This year’s player to watch on the Football team is senior wide-receiver Winston Black. Black, who led the Southwest Preparatory Conference, SPC, in receiving yards last year despite playing in only 6 games of a 9-game season, was out of action due to a shoulder injury during Week 1. Now in his final year as a Hornet, Black will look to improve on what he accomplished last season and win Greenhill’s first game in over three years.

Field Hockey – This year,  the center of attention of the Field Hockey team is senior forward Maya Harrington. Harrington, who has already verbally committed to playing Division III Field Hockey for Amherst College, has scored 4 of Greenhill’s 6 goals in their first two games.

Boys’ Volleyball – On the Boys’ Volleyball Team, is the spotlight is on senior outside hitter Maurice Thompson. Thompson has been on the Varsity squad for two years and is slated to be team captain this year. Standing at 5’10, Thompson boasts a 34-inch vertical jump.

Girls’ Volleyball – For the Girls’ Volleyball Team, this year’s player to watch is sophomore middle Zoe Gillen-Malveaux. Gillen-Malveaux has started on the Varsity squad throughout both of her years in high school, and she has been a key player for the team. This year, she will have to rally her team past a tough start.

Cross Country (Boys) – The Boys’ Cross-Country team is once again being led by now-sophomore runner Chris Williams. Williams was the star runner of last year’s team as well, despite being a freshman. In their most recent race, the Hebron Friday Night Hawk Invitational, Williams placed 2nd in the Varsity division out of 119 runners, only 5 seconds behind the winner.

Cross Country (Girls) – On the Girls’ side, senior runner Celina Prieur is the one to watch. She finished 37th overall, (the top Greenhill finisher), out of 92 runners in their first meet of the season. Despite being only a second-year runner, Prieur has been named Varsity captain for the 2022-2023 season.
