Conference season started for all four teams including boys basketball, girls basketball, boys soccer and girls soccer. All teams were 2-0 coming into the second week of conference games. The streak could have continued, but boys soccer lost 7-0 to Fort Worth Country Day, Greenhill’s first league game loss of the winter season.
Both boys and girls basketball are 3-0 heading into the halfway mark of the conference season. On Jan. 17, both teams beat FWCD. It was also senior night, and four seniors were recognized for their work over the years. Anwar Battikhi, Shreya Ram, Sibelle Zambie and Tayce Thomas were celebrated before the boys and girls games. Boys basketball had a non-conference game on Jan. 19 against the Home School Association.
Boys and girls soccer also played FWCD winning one and losing the other. The girls won 2-0 and the boys lost 7-0. Girls soccer honored 10 senior players: Payton Blalock, Devin Davis, Hayden Goodman, Zoya Iyer, Elizabeth Mann, Alex Giorgadze, Zoe Dzialowski, Susie Fagelman, Siena Richey and Sofia Serrano. A significant part of the team. Boys soccer honored 4 seniors: Ben Schackman, Lucca Buonamici, Zander Kennedy and Adam Kesselman.
Seniors were celebrated for their contributions to Greenhill Athletics over the years. They will also receive team gifts at the end of their respective season.
This Friday, Jan. 26, all teams will be playing. The boys soccer team will be playing at The St. Marks School of Texas and the girls soccer team will be playing at The Hockaday School. The theme for the games is blackout.
Varsity Swim will have their Senior Night at home on Thursday, Jan. 25.
