Greenhill Returns to Mask Optional Protocol as Omicron Cases Decline

In an email sent on Feb. 9 to parents, Head of School Lee Hark announced that masks will soon be optional for all students and employees.

The change is going to come after winter break, on Feb. 15. Along with the mask-optional policy, other changes include volunteers having the opportunity not to wear a mask, weekly COVID-19 notifications instead of daily, more students being allowed in Rose Hall and the resumption of Preschool and Lower School activities.

For a student or employee who tests positive, there is a seven-day quarantine and high-risk contacts will be traced. If a family has multiple people at Greenhill and one contracts the virus, then the isolation times will be determined on a case-to-case basis.

With the pandemic declining, Hark is optimistic about the future and appreciates the way both students and employees have dealt with the virus.

“The ebbs and flows of this pandemic have challenged us all, and I have been incredibly proud of how our community has managed through this school year,” wrote Hark in his email.
