Freshman Shreeya Madhavanur traveled to Austin, Texas to participate in the YMCA State Youth and Government (YG) convention on Jan 30. She will compete with 1500 other students from around the state.

The convention will last for four days, and she will debate her bill in committee and plenary sessions in the Texas State Capitol building.

Her bill establishes stricter regulation of groundwater removal. Madhavanur received the Distinguished Delegate recognition at her Districts competition.
