For the first time since October 2019, Greenhill Upper and Middle School Band will be performing at the Foote Quad for the annual Pops Concert on Monday, Oct. 4 at 6:30 p.m.

According to Donnell, this will be the first concert to be performed in front of a live audience since January 2020.

“It’s going to be a lovely evening on Monday night, so I’m looking forward to a great time. Hope to see a lot of people join us!” Donnell said.

As per tradition, the concert is held to showcase the band’s hard work by performing a variety of prepared pieces for the enjoyment of parents, friends, and anyone else who wants to attend.

“The Pops Concert is more casual, and the music is different than the regular concert band concerts we have the rest of the year,” says Upper and Middle School Band Director Brian Donnell. “Pops refers to the music we will play, which typically is from movies, film, or pop music.”

This year students will play classics such as “The All-American Concert March”, “Black Eyes” from “A Star is Born”, “The Bare Necessities” from “The Jungle Book,” Pop hits like “Am I Wrong”, and so much more.

“I’m extremely excited to perform and see other younger musicians show off their budding talent!” said freshman clarinet player Aditi Vikram.
