As the temperature drops and the seasons change, food and beverage chains are starting to replace their fall menus with winter offerings.
On Thursday, Nov. 6, Starbucks Coffee released their 2025 winter menu. Students at Greenhill love the winter menu and were excited about its return.
“I love the winter drinks, I look forward to them every year,” sophomore Alice Hall said.
With the release of the menu, Starbucks brought back some of the classic items including the Snowman Cookie, Peppermint Mocha and Iced Sugar Cookie Latte. Later in the season, they also introduced the Eggnog Latte and Chestnut Praline Latte.
Also in this new drop, they introduced items like the Polar Bear Cake Pop and Cinnamon Pull-Apart Bread.
To celebrate the season, Starbucks hosted their annual Red Cup Day on Nov. 13 where customers get a free red Starbucks cup with the purchase of a seasonal drink.
“I’m so happy I got a red cup, I use it all the time at home,” Hall said.
Starbucks is one of my go-to places in the morning for a cup of coffee, so I tasted some of the items on the seasonal menu.
First, I tried the Iced Sugar Cookie Latte. In my opinion, this drink was disappointing. It didn’t taste different from a normal iced coffee, and nothing stood out to me.
My next drink was an Iced Gingerbread Chai. This drink was delicious; the combination of the warm chai spices and the gingerbread cold foam was the perfect amount of sweet and spice.
Finally, I tasted a Sugar Plum Cheese Danish. I had never eaten a Danish before, so I did not know what to expect. I enjoyed this pastry as I liked the taste of the spiced-plum spread and the cream cheese filling together, but I was disappointed that there wasn’t more of it.
Overall, I really enjoyed Starbucks’ winter menu and hope to try more of the seasonal items.
