With the turn of the new year, Greenhill students are reflecting on their achievements and challenges from the past year while setting goals for growth this year.
For many students, balancing school and home responsibilities has been a challenge.
“In 2026, I hope to manage sports and school better and have a good time balance,” freshman Nia Mehta said.
Other students say they have found a good balance between their academics and extracurricular commitments.
“I think I am doing well managing my classes this year, and I have found a pretty good balance,” freshman Andrew Waldman said.
Students are also setting goals that will help them in the future.
“In 2026, I want to reach out and meet new people in general,” senior Ayan Thombre said. “I am going to college next year, so it’s a good skill to have.”
Seniors, in particular, have experienced personal growth as they learn to manage the stress that accompanies their final year.
“I did a good job staying on top of work,” Thombre said. “Junior year was pretty busy, so I improved my organization a lot senior year.”
Many students say they have grown by setting limits for themselves to better manage their stress.
“I think I improved in prioritizing my mental health,” senior Kendall Johnson said. “As a senior the year gets stressful, between college applications, grades, and deadlines, so it is important for me to focus on myself and set boundaries with myself.”
Setting mental health goals has been impactful in personal growth for many students.
“In 2025 I think I did a good job of focusing on myself and not always trying to please others,” said Mehta.
Sophomore Ethan Sadka says he was able to recognize his strength and flaws by prioritizing himself.
With endless possibilities ahead this year, many students say they are excited for a fresh start.
“I am excited to start the new year and drop negative things that drag me down in 2025, new year new me,” said freshman Isabel Evans.
