With the opening of new staff positions, Bobby Vadnais joined Greenhill as an Assistant Coach for the varsity football team, as well as an US math teacher.
During Vadnais’ first couple months at Greenhill, he made connections with his students and athletes. Sophomore Arjun Bhatnagar says he admires Vadnais’ leadership and determination.
“He’s a very caring coach and is committed to making us better as a team,” Bhatnagar said.
Through his experience leading football teams to reach state championship titles, Vadnais is a new element with a new perspective for the team, allowing the players to learn through a new lens.
“I have been playing football for a while now, and I am still learning new ways of how to play the game,” junior Kaden Castillo said.
Vadnais has been both coaching and teaching for 27 years, and with that came numerous accomplishments.
“I’ve been blessed the last seven years, I coached five state championships,” Vadnais said.
Vadnais spends a lot of time both in the classroom and on the field, and his daily life consists of achieving a balance between each sector of his life.
Throughout the start of this year, Vadnais developed a routine to balance his tasks.
“It’s been this routine for six weeks so far, it’s a grind,” Vadnais said.
Vadnais assisted in leading Greenhill to a victory in the first home game of the season, as well as a victory in the Homecoming game.
“The biggest highlight was winning the first football game,” Vadnais said.
