Greenhill’s Catalyst Coffee has expanded its menu this fall, introducing several new food and drink items. As a student and a frequent customer at Catalyst, I tried some new items to review for fellow Greenhill students.
I started off trying their take on the classic time fall flavor, pumpkin spice, with an iced pumpkin spice chai latte.
I would recommend this item as I could noticeably taste the chai and pumpkin spice flavor. I have previously bought the chai from Catalyst, and in comparison, the pumpkin spice syrup does make the beverage distinctly sweeter.
Overall, I enjoyed this drink, and I would most likely find myself ordering it if I were craving something on the sweeter side.
My next order was the Blue Spirulina Smoothie which is made of pineapple, banana and spirulina powder. This drink did not live up to my expectations as it lacked a lot of flavor. Although this drink did include multiple ingredients, I could not taste any distinct flavors besides the overpowering taste of banana.
Although this smoothie was not my top choice, other students enjoyed the drink.
“It is amazing, I love the taste and everything about it” freshman London Kuntz said.
Finally, I tried the Strawberry Banana Smoothie. I could definitely taste the strawberry banana flavor, but it did not taste like your average smoothie.
Although I would consider myself a smoothie enthusiast, this smoothie was not satisfying to me. I enjoy the natural and fresh taste of fruit, which were noticeably absent within the drink
Overall, although I may not prefer the smoothies at Catalyst, there are many other items I thoroughly enjoy. I will continue to order and enjoy many beverages and food items from Catalyst. I’m looking forward to continuing to try new items as the year continues to go on.
