As notified in an email sent on Wednesday, May 1, all checked out library books are to be returned by the end of the week.
Harrison stated that Pre-school, Lower School and Middle School books must be returned by Friday, May 3, while Upper School books are due Thursday, May 2.
“On Monday, I will send out an email to everyone that has a book checked out letting them know they are overdue,” Head Librarian Abby Harrison said.
The library is making an exception to any books being used for research or class project.
“In the email to the Upper School, I will let anyone using books for research or projects know that there is an exception,” Harrison said. “They just have to send an email back, letting me know that they are using it for a class, and they will bring it back when finished.”
Different from past years, the library staff is now beginning to collect all books a couple of weeks before the end of the school year. This change was implemented to ensure students have enough time to return books past their due date while school is still in session, and students are on campus. Previously, students would be forced to return books during summer break, or they would face charges.
