Students return to the Jazz Age by swapping their normal attire for fedoras and flapper dresses on Roaring 20s Day. With pearls and pinstripes and a touch of Gatsby glamour, the school is alive with the spirit of the decade that was defined by its glitz and rebellion.
“We [planned] a 20s theme prom in 2020 but that never happened, so I got to wear my outfit,” Upper School science teacher Candace Craig said.
According to students who participated in the preparations of Homecoming decorations, the red-carpet decorations in the Upper School were meant to be paired with everyone’s outfits and to provide an optimal photo setting
“I love the Great Gatsby theme because I get to wear lots of black and big pearls,” sophomore Briana Solomon said. “It is a great addition to this week.”
