The “Rock the Future” Greenhill Fundraising Gala was hosted at The House of Blues on March 2 and raised over $700,000.
The gala aims to raise money for various campaigns that benefit Greenhill and includes planning by multiple volunteers who also help run and promote the event.
Multiple chairs are included in the planning and fundraising process. This year, the auction chair was Rachel Nosnik, and the event chair was Maggie Zamanian.
Nosnick helped kickstart the planning process by helping choose a theme for the gala and curating community outreach initiatives like emails, school announcements and websites for the event to gain exposure.
“The Rock the Future theme was heavily inspired by our school [year] theme ‘Designing our Future’ and our Rock and Roll Gala venue,” Nosnick said.
Zamanian also helped create item solicitations for online and live auctions while developing a plan for sponsorship and ticket sales.
After collaboration takes place between chairs and various volunteers, Greenhill faculty are contacted to ensure the program runs successfully.
After months of planning, the gala took place. The VIP pre-party started at 6 p.m., and VIP ticket holders were offered exclusive entertainment, dinner stations and an open bar in a private venue.
The main event started at 7:30 p.m., where ticket buyers were offered food and an open bar while the Decades Band performed live.
“It was incredible to witness everyone adorned in their rock glam attire, showcasing their unique style while coming together to support the school,” Greenhill parent Amanda Beck said.
The Online Auction closed on March 3 at 3 p.m. The bidders were able to receive notifications if they were on the higher bid or if they had been outbid.
“We had many amazing prizes this year. We had our incredible Cabo trip on a private jet, the best artwork, stunning jewelry, tons of experiences such as shadow days in a variety of professions, tickets to sporting events, gift cards and more,” Zamanian said.
Other parents say they shared the same sentiment.
“The vibrant energy and unwavering support from the families made the evening truly unforgettable,” Beck said.
All proceeds from the live auction and raffle drawing will go towards the Growing Stronger Together Campaign, which raises money for the future of the school in the areas of STEM + Innovation and Athletics.
“Our goal is to raise as much money as possible for our students and the current campaign while creating an unforgettable evening for all of the guests,” Nosnick said.
