This year, the Greenhill varsity football team includes several new players.
Traditionally, Greenhill has had a smaller football program compared to other schools in the area. However, this year, there are 43 players in the program. With an influx of players, the program has been able to create a junior varsity squad for the first time in four years.
The new additions to the team include freshmen and students new to Greenhill.
“I have had a lot of fun with the team so far, and it has been an overall positive experience,” freshman Aiden Flanagan said.
Players say the new faces are making a positive impact on the team, as Greenhill currently has a 3-2 record and seeks their fourth win of the season this Friday in a conference game at Fort Worth Country Day School.
“Our team last year just needed a few extra players to get us over the hump,” Julian Meyer ‘24 said.
Seniors say they are happy about the new additions as well.
“All of the new players on the team have been a huge help to us to start this season, and I am very excited to see them all progress throughout the season,” senior Garrett Koerner said.
