On Monday, Feb. 17, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., the Greenhill community had the opportunity to hear from alumni working in the healthcare field during a virtual panel.
Students heard from three Greenhill alumni, all working in different areas of medicine.
First, attendees heard from Dr. Richard Markus ’04, a pediatric cardiologist in Dallas, TX. With a background in psychology and medical training at Texas A&M University, Markus specializes in preventative cardiology and advanced cardiac imaging, particularly in young athletes and pediatric oncology patients.
The next speaker was Dr. Wendy Parnell Toles ’99, an obstetrician-gynecologist at Medical City Dallas. She has been in private practice for 14 years and currently serves as the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department Chair at Medical City Dallas.
Parnell says she aims to provide care to women at all stages of life and has held many leadership roles in the medical community such as serving on the Dallas County Medical Society Board of Trustees, Texas Medical Association Insurance Trust Board and Section Chief of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at Medical City Dallas.
Finally, attendees heard from Dr. Christina Marmol ’08, a family physician in Chicago, IL. Marmol practices at PrimeCare, a Federally Qualified Health Center, where she works in an outpatient clinic as well as at St. Mary’s Hospital. Marmol specializes in women’s health, maternal and child medicine and resident education.
This event, open to students, parents and faculty of the Greenhill community, provided firsthand knowledge on careers in medicine and other healthcare related industries.
