With the NFL season beginning, fantasy football is officially back with participation from Greenhill students.
Students typically participate in a league with 8-12 friends for the duration of the football season. Participants in the league draft a team consisting of real NFL players before the season commences.
The specifics of each team depend on the league settings and typically include a quarterback, wide receivers, running backs and a tight end. Players earn points towards for fantasy team’s by gaining yards and scoring touchdowns.
Many students say fantasy football helps them stay in touch with their friends.
“Fantasy [football] has been a great way for me and my friends to compete in a fun way throughout the year,” junior Arjun Bhatnagar said.
Another aspect of the fantasy football competition includes creating a punishment for the league member that finishes with the worst record.
“My friend who lost my league last year had to wear a rainbow hoodie from the Barbie movie to school for a week,” Meyer said.
Upper School students say they are excited to see what this season brings for their fantasy football teams.
