Winter Hornet Night
On Friday, Jan. 16, Greenhill athletes competed in a series of high-stakes games, including two Southwest Preparatory Conference tournament rematches in basketball and soccer. At halftime of the girls basketball game, Greenhill second graders took the court for a special exhibition game, representing the next generation of Hornets.
Eighth to Ninth Grade Transition Night
Eighth graders and their families visited Upper School on Jan. 15 to tour the new buildings and discuss course selection, credits, and scheduling for the upcoming school year.
SPC Winter Championships
From Feb. 12-14, Greenhill athletes will stay in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to compete against fellow SPC opponents, chasing conference titles and the opportunity to add another year to the banners in Phillips Gym.
Latin League Round Two Victories
The Greenhill varsity purple, varsity gold, JV purple, JV gold and Upper School Latin teams delivered strong performances in the Latin League, a national online competition similar to the Junior Classical League. The teams will advance to regional rounds in March, with hopes of qualifying for the national finals in April.
The “Lift Every Voice” Gallery
The “Lift Every Voice” exhibition ended on Jan. 17, wrapping up the dive into Greenhill’s 75 years of history in celebration of its 75th anniversary. The gallery featured 75 alumni biographies, highlighting their experiences at Greenhill and the lessons they carried beyond campus.
ATSSB All–State Band
Senior Rachel Jiang, sophomore Deniz Ozturk and junior Collin Sun will travel to San Antonio after earning chairs in the Association of Texas Small School Bands All-State Band. They will spend three days at the Texas Music Educators Association convention and perform at the Lila Cockrell Auditorium on Feb. 14.
