Dr. Shelly Kaufold is a well-seasoned educator, who is entering her 1st year on the hill but her 17th year in the classroom.
Kaufold has always had a deep passion for Latin. Her time studying at Cornell University was spent working towards her undergraduate degree and PHD in Latin and Greek.
“I really loved Latin/ ancient history, culture and literature,” said Kaufold
Kaufold’s distinctive teaching career has led her to many academic institutions. She has taught at the University of Utah, Founders’ Classical Academy and many DFW ISD’s. But her journey to Greenhill has been her favorite yet.
Kaufold said the main reason why she moved to Greenhill was that she “wanted a rigorous and valued Latin Program.” It seems her dream for a Latin Program is coming true.
The head of the Middle school language program, Joan Romanosky, thought Kaufold, “Absolutely fits in. She jumped right in to teaching and advising also into JCl and new Latin league competition.”
Besides her love for Latin and Greek, she has a deep passion for, animal rescues, running, and she is a triathlete.
Dr. Kaufold already has positively connected with her student and colleagues. Many of her students say they hope she has a long and joyful tenure on the hill.
