Hornet Athletes Take on Senior Night

Swimming:

The first senior night is Thursday night, when the boys and girls swimming team will compete against Cistercian, Oakridge, and Fort Worth Country Day. The team is led by freshman Zach Geller for the boys, and junior Josie Arbuckle for the girls. The girls team is coming off of a win against Hockaday for the first time since 2011. The team is currently 11-0.

Boys Soccer:

The Boys Soccer team is undefeated in counter play. They currently have two wins and one draw in counter play. After a rain out against Cistercian, the team returns to play St. Mark’s School Of Texas this Friday. The team is led by captains’ and seniors Matias Zac and Cole Ashley. The team also has two sophomore Starts, midfielder Liam Fagelman and goalie Noah Piper.

“I feel like being able to represent my school in such a big game like this is a privilege,” Fagelman said.  “Our team will compete each and every minute of that game until we win.”

Girls Soccer:

The Girls Soccer Team is looking to turn it around against Hockaday on Friday at 5:00 pm. The team is winless in counter play, and several key players are out due to injury. The team has one senior, Helen Jackson, who will be celebrated at 4:35 pm before the game.

Boys Basketball:

The boys’ basketball team is 16-6, with a 2-2 record in counter play.  The team is ranked in the top 150 in the DFW area, and freshman Jaxson Thompson and sophomore Dillon Watt are top 10 in the Dallas Area in scoring. The team is playing St. Marks on Friday, where they look to add another win to their counter season. The team has two seniors: Luke Brodsky and Zac Slotnik, who have both been on varsity for three years now.

“I thought it would be a fun game,” Thompson said.  “I like games that are competitive and have high intensity, so I was excited.”

Girls Basketball:

The girls basketball team is undefeated in counter play and coming off a win against ESD. The team has five seniors: Katie Stone, Lexie Stone, Leah Smith, Nuha Omer, and Emily Quinn. The team is playing Hockaday on Senior Night, where they look to maintain their undefeated record.
