“High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” Review

The world-renowned Disney movie, “High School Musical”, now has a reboot series on Disney +. When this series was first announced, it seemed there was a divide between the people who were so excited to see a new version of their favorite childhood movie and the people who were repulsed that Disney would even think about remaking their favorite childhood movie. I, admittedly, was one of the people who could not even imagine another version of the movie I had seen numerous times.

My opinions have completely changed. I was wrong for judging this show right off the bat. After watching the first episode, I fell in love with the cast and the direction the show was going in. “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” was not a reboot of the original movie – it would be absurd to call it that. Instead, the show is about the high school where the movie took place, putting on a “High School Musical” play. It includes all the wonderful songs from the movie, a whole new cast and even new songs, which are really good, I have to add. This show made me laugh and cry. It’s safe to say it was a modern mix of “The Office” comedy and “High School Musical” dramatics. If you have Disney +, be sure to add this show to your binge list and let me know what you think!
