This fall, Betsy Anderson, first grade teacher, along with Steve Landkamer, seventh grade fellow, is taking the feral cats on the school’s campus to the vet for spaying and neutering.
"Greenhill has always had feral cats on the campus," Mrs. Anderson said. "This is due, in part, to the fact we are on a large campus with open fields where mice like to live. Additionally, we have peacocks that eat a combination of seeds and dry cat food. This also attracts the cats to the campus."
On Wednesdays and Sundays, Mrs. Anderson traps the cats and takes them home with her. She then takes care of them until the following week, when she takes them to Jacquelyn Bruner, Administrative Assistant to the CFO, in the Business Office.
From there, Mrs. Bruner takes the cats to the vet, Kittico, to get spayed or neutered and get a rabies shot. After that, Mrs. Anderson picks them up from the vet, takes them to get fed, and then she releases them on campus where she found them.

However, one of the most interesting aspects for Mrs. Bullock about being in sixth grade is that she will be teaching students that she previously had taught in the Lower School.
“It’s great to see familiar faces, and I feel like I got a jump on the year,” Mrs. Bullock said.
